Workshop – Done!

When Jamie and I were house hunting, one of the things I kept an eye out for was a spot I could set up my workshop and a prop/model display area. Luckily, our new house came with a spare bedroom in the basement complete with a walk-in closet.

After the holidays were over, I focused my attention to painting both rooms as they were previously white and purple – not suitable for a man cave. I decided to go with dark blue and a red accent wall as a Man of Steel theme. The red came out a little more orange than I would have liked, but living just outside of Denver, I figure it also doubles as Bronco colors.

Due to a leaky pipe in the basement, we ended ripping out the carpeting in the walk-in closet. Instead of replacing it with new carpet, I decided to install some inexpensive foam flooring figuring it would be getting dirty and subjected to various spills. We went with some interlocking exercise flooring tiles as they were relatively inexpensive, easy to install, and will be easy to replace if they get damaged.

I then unpacked my props and models into the former bedroom, which I put onto some leftover shelving we had from the move. Eventually, I’ll be replacing the shelves with something a bit more aesthetic.

Overall, I’m very happy with how everything came out. I’m extremely excited to have a dedicated a space to work on my projects, and can’t wait to get back to building some stuff!

Without further adieu, here’s the video!
