P90x – Done!

Looking back on my blog, I started P90x back in June of last year. Unfortunately, I was less than diligent about keeping up on the schedule, and it took me almost a year to finish the program (although that includes twice I restarted due to extended absences).

Despite the fact that it took me almost eleven months to complete a ninety day training program, I still saw a fairly substantial improvement. Mind you, I didn’t achieve the results you see in all the infomercials, but I attribute that to me not staying with the program’s schedule and not due to any deficiency in the training regiment.

While I had hopes of losing some weight during the course of the program, the fact of the matter is that I actually put on weight. However, I am fairly certain that this was a direct result of increasing muscle mass, which weighs more than fat. Luckily, weight loss was not my primary goal for doing P90x, so much as I was looking to get into shape and build muscle.

I still have a lot of work ahead of me, but I’ve already started a second round, and I’m determined to stick closer to the schedule than I did before.

Bottom line; if you’re looking to get into shape, and you’re willing to work hard, I would definitely recommend P90x. Just realize that the changes you see on TV don’t come without an incredible amount of hard work and dedication. So if you’re ready to put the effort and time in, get to it!
